I Wish February Was Longer
.....said no one ever.
It's the midwest. February always seems like the longest month of the year. Isn't that weird? Cuz it's ALWAYS the shortest. But anyone who lives above the Oklahoma/Kansas line knows what I mean. By the time Valentine's Day rolls around, we are SO ready for spring!
But I do kinda wish it were a little longer, but not because of the weather. It's because I only have a few short weeks to enjoy my Valentine's Day decor after I've taken down my WINTER decor.
Yes, I said "winter decor".
Not Christmas. "Winter".
Yep. I decorate for winter between New Year's and late January. White, snowy stuff, snowmen, anything that looks winter-y and cute. It helps me transition from the post-Christmas blahs, and I'm totally into it. Next January, I'll share more.
Friends often come into my home and ask, "Do you REALLY decorate for EVERY season"?
Um. Yea. I'm that girl. Please don't hate me. Come on in and have some coffee or wine.
I haven't always been like this. When my kids were little, they begged me to decorate for Halloween, Easter, etc., but I didn't have the time or the energy to decorate for every season. (Sorry girls). But I've always loved to decorate. And when we moved into a new house a little over a year ago, I had more time and was blessed with some awesome spaces to put cute stuff. AND, they opened a Home Goods about a mile from my home.
Oh. My Lord. Happy day!
Now, I can't wait until seasonal things go on sale, so I can store them for the year, then open up the boxes to see what I forgot that I bought, and go to town! It's like Christmas every time the season changes!
So here we go. Some pics from this year's Valentine's Decor.
I'm a total bargain girl, and I get most of these goodies at Target, Home Goods, IKEA, Marshall's, Tuesday Morning, and even the Dollar Store...easy, on the cheap, so cute and fun!
Happy Valentine's Month! Don't forget to love on someone with a kind word, a hug, or a text saying "Hey, how are you, I'm thinking about you!"
Enjoy the love, my friends!
